El Paso’s best kept secret..

Well, it’s really Chaparral, New Mexico’s best kept secret but who gives a damn considering it’s only 10 minutes from EP’s North East. Ever since 2002, the El Paso area has had a hell of a time sustaining a legitimate set of trails but thanks to Isaac, Charlie, and Steve that’s recently changed. Meet the Raptor trails. I’m not sure if they named them after the disemboweling dinosaur to deter kids from smashing their manicured jumps to bits, but I guess it really doesn’t matter. They could be called the Tampon Trails for all I care. The point is that I’ll have something other than ditches to ride the next time I visit the motherland.
Isaac’s been nice enough to send me picture updates for several months now. Every time I get one it’s obvious the crew has put some hours in. Like all trails, a lot of work has been put into these so show some respect by helping out some if you wanna ride them.
Riding pics and portrait are by the Cmortenson. Click here to see more of his work.

It’s good to hear that they’re taking advantage of the rain. From what I’ve heard, there is no slowing these guys down.

The only gay thing about riding trails is that you’re not man enough to ride them. Grow some hair on your chest and ride something other than street killy boy.

Damn dudes! I like riding street just as much as the next guy, but I would definitely say that trails are scarier to ride. Nothing freaks me out more than pedaling balls at a lip for the first time and not knowing if you’ll clear or not. Then again grinding down a long steep rail is no walk in the park.
